Why is the state of Iowa the leader in cancer rate in America?

Being a PC armchair journalist and living in this current state, Iowa, I also live in the city and county with the highest rate of cancer in Iowa. It is hard to find someone who hasn’t been affected by this horrific disease. So why? What is it that Iowa has that is causing this? Corporate Farming? Farming is the backbone of GDP in Iowa, in fact the state is known for feeding the world. From crops to pigs and cattle. Could something that is used in the grand scheme of the industry are what is causing this epidemic. There is also a great deal of manufacturing in the Hawkeye state. 3M, Clysar, Archer Daniel Midland, Cargill, and Monsanto are all major manufacturers in my area. A few of these manufacturers have been involved with major lawsuits regarding health problems and the products they produce causing them. What is it going to take to get our public offices  and politicians here in Iowa to at the least be truthful and do what is safest for all Iowans and their visitors to feel a bit safer, instead of some getting wealthier.
